FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Made for owners who’ve never had a website. If something isn’t here, just ask us.

Getting started

Do I need a website or a computer?+

No. Your Aangan is your online home, and you run it from your phone.

I'm not good with technology — can I still use it?+

Yes. We set it all up for you, and everything is in plain language with Hindi support.

How long until I’m live?+

About a day, once you send us your photos and details. (Want a professional shoot? That comes with Virāsat, our top package.)

Why Aangan

Why should I pay for this? Can’t I just make a page myself?+

You could — and many owners do, and then it sits half-finished and forgotten. Aangan isn’t just a page; it’s your story told properly, kept high on Google, refreshed with the seasons, and backed by a real person in the hills. You built your homestay over years — this is the last 5% that finally lets the world see all of it. That isn’t a cost. It’s the difference between being found and staying invisible.

Someone will make a website for ₹1,000. Why is Aangan different?+

A ₹1,000 website is a template with your name pasted in — it says nothing about who you are, and nobody ever finds it. Aangan writes YOUR story in your own voice, gets you found by guests, Google and AI, takes bookings and payments, and stays alive month after month. One is a dead page. The other is your homestay’s living presence.

You’re new. Why should I trust you with my homestay?+

A fair question — in the hills, trust is everything. We’re not a faraway company; INUK is built in Uttarakhand, by people of these mountains, and every homestay is looked after by a local dagadi you can meet and call. We’ve run a homestay ourselves — see Kunja. We’re not here for one sale; we grow only when you grow.

I already get bookings by word of mouth. Why do I need this?+

Word of mouth is precious — keep it. But even a guest a friend sends will search your name before they pay, just to check you’re real. If nothing shows up, the doubt creeps in. Aangan makes sure that moment goes your way — and brings you guests who’d never otherwise have heard of you.

Your story & being seen

My homestay isn’t big or fancy. Is this really for me?+

Especially for you. The traveller looking for real Uttarakhand — home-cooked food, a warm family, the quiet of the hills — doesn’t want a fancy hotel. They want you. Aangan’s whole job is to show that honestly, so a small, real place is finally seen for the treasure it is. You don’t have to be perfect. You have to be real.

I’m not good at describing my place or writing. What then?+

You don’t write a single word. We sit with you and listen — in Hindi, over chai if you like — and write your story in your own voice: the reason you started, your mother’s recipe, the view at dawn. You just talk; we do the telling.

Won’t my page just look like everyone else’s?+

No — that’s the whole point. Template sites all look the same because they say nothing. Your Aangan is built around your story, your photos, your specialities. Two Aangan homestays never feel alike, because no two hill families are alike.

How does this actually bring new guests, not just look nice?+

Looking good is only the start. We get you high on Google, ready for the AI travellers now ask, listed on the INUK network, and collecting the reviews that build trust — so new travellers find you, believe you, and book you directly. Being seen is what turns a beautiful page into a full house.

Money & payments

What does it cost?+

A small part of your build cost — about 1% to 5% — paid once, plus a small monthly amount to keep you high on Google and fresh. Never a commission on your bookings.

How does the money reach me?+

Straight to your own bank account, the next working day. You collect the advance at booking.

Do I still have to pay MakeMyTrip or Airbnb?+

Keep them if you like — but every direct booking through your Aangan has no commission and is yours. Aangan is not their replacement; it’s the online page that makes travellers trust you enough to book.

Your guests & safety

Whose guests are these?+

Yours. Every guest’s contact stays with you, always.

Is my money and data safe?+

Yes — secure payments straight to your bank, and your data is yours.

Can I cancel?+

Anytime. No lock-in, no penalty.

Your dagadi & help

What is a dagadi?+

Your dagadi is a local person from INUK — a neighbour who knows the hills and speaks your language. They help set up your Aangan and stay your first point of contact for anything you need. In the hills, trust travels person to person, and your dagadi is that person.

If something goes wrong, who do I call?+

Your dagadi first — a real person, not a helpline in some far-off city. Every call is tracked, and if they can’t answer in time, INUK steps in behind them. You are never left alone with a problem.

Do I have to do everything in English?+

Never. Everything — your page, the app, your dagadi, our help — works in Hindi. English is optional; your comfort is not.
